Introductory therapy meeting
Normally you will be asked to come for an introductory appointment before committing to a course of psychotherapy. This introductory meeting is an opportunity for us to explore what has brought you to therapy. It also allows us to get a sense for how it might be to work together. A decision whether to proceed with therapy together does not need to be made during the initial appointment.
Length and frequency of therapy
I offer short-term (around 10 weeks) and open-ended therapy (up to three years). While we may agree a notional length to our work at the start, this can be revisited at any time. Appointments are weekly and last an hour. This hour also includes any scheduling we may need to do for future appointments. Typically I do not see clients fortnightly at the outset, but it may be possible to meet less frequently at a later stage in our work together.
I offer appointments on Tuesdays (afternoons and evenings) and Thursdays (afternoons and evenings). My first appointment on Tuesdays and Thursdays starts at 2:30pm and my final appointment on both days starts at 8pm. I currently don‘t practice on weekends.
I work from EH1 Therapies in central Edinburgh. The venue is about a 12 minute walk from Waverley Station and a 7 minute walk from Edinburgh Bus Station.
I offer an introductory meeting of up to one hour for £20. Thereafter my fee is £50 for each hour long session.
